How To Use Handheld Laser Welding Machine?

Today I will introduce to you the installation of our handheld laser welding machine.

Now let’s introduce the accessories it is equipped with, and then there are some small accessories.

This is a brass solder tip.

We can choose different copper nozzles according to different wire diameters and welding processes.

This is a spare water pipe. If the water pipe is damaged, we can directly replace it.

This is a protective lens, which is a consumable and is installed on the front end of the gun head. If it is damaged, it can be replaced directly.

We will show you how to replace this lens later.

This is an argon pressure reducer, find the air tube that comes with us, insert one end into the pressure reducer, and insert the other end into the air inlet at the back of the machine.

We recommend that you wear protective gloves when operating.

These two are wire feed rolls , each equipment is equipped with four wire feed rolls , two are a set.

0.8-1.0 and 1.2-1.6mm welding wire respectively .

One of them is already installed in the wire feeder .

These are protective glasses. It is recommended that you wear protective glasses when welding.

This is the wrench we use to replace the nozzle.

These four are wire feeding nozzles , corresponding to welding wires with diameters of 0.8 , 1.0 , 1.2 and 1.6mm respectively .

This is the data line for reading laser information . Through this line, we can read the information of the laser for troubleshooting and debugging parameters .

This is an inner six wrench , which is used for later maintenance and repair of equipment .

This is the signal line of the wire feeder . One end is connected to the wire feeder, and the other end is connected to the welding machine.

This is the power cord of the wire feeder . This is a welding ground wire, commonly known as a ground wire clamp. It is not a real ground terminal, but is mainly used to clamp the welding workpiece to form a welding circuit.

Let’s take a look at the installation of the equipment. The first one on the left is the external ground wire. When everyone officially starts working.

When we officially start work, we must lay ground piles and connect ground wires.

to install the signal line of the wire feeder below , just find the corresponding interface and connect it and tighten it.

To install the welding ground wire, you only need to find the corresponding interface, plug it in and tighten it.

the wire feed signal can be directly inserted into the back of the wire feeder .

Connect the power cord of the wire feeder, connect the air inlet of the pressure reducer to the gas tank, and tighten it. The other end is connected to the air inlet behind the welding machine.

Next connect the power cord

Connect the 220V power input directly to the circuit breaker. The required voltage is 220v and the rated current is greater than 20A.

The following will show you how to install the welding wire .

Pass the welding wire into the wire feed roll , install a wire feed roll of the same specification according to the diameter of the welding wire , and clamp the welding wire into the slot of the wire feed roll .

Next, take out the welding torch, and wind the excess optical fiber cable to the shell of the welding machine according to the required length.

After finishing the work, put the welding torch on the gun rack on the side.

Install the other end of the wire feed nozzle on the welding gun to the wire feeder . Pay attention to the installation position, Do not touch the wire feed wheel , so as not to affect the normal wire feeding .

First unscrew the wire feeding nozzle to adjust the wire output . Turn on the wire feeder , generally set the normal working speed to 60, the next step is to press and hold to manually output the wire. The wire feeder starts to run, waiting for the wire to come out.

To observe whether the wire feeding is normal, if not, stop in time and check whether the installation is correct. Wire feeding can be stopped after the welding wire comes out from the torch head .

Up to now, all accessories have been installed.

Open the gas tank before starting work, observe the pressure of the gas tank during work, and adjust it to between 10-15 .

Open the front side cover of the machine, the upper one is the laser, and the lower one is the chiller.

We need to open the water inlet of the chiller , pour water into it, observe the water level line, and stop water injection when the water level line reaches the green part.

Below is the drain valve, when replacing the cooling water, the water can be drained from here.

Now you can start the machine, first turn on the main switch, let’s look at the front of the device, the left side is the display to display parameters and other information.

To the right is the emergency stop switch, turn it clockwise to turn on the power, and our welding system will start.

Then press the water chiller and laser switch, so that the device is turned on.

The chiller we equipped is a dual-control chiller. If the temperature is too high, it will automatically cool down, and if the temperature is too low, it will automatically heat up. The temperature is usually set at 25 degrees, and it can be set to 30 degrees when it is hot in summer .

Let’s take a look at the operation and settings of the welding system,

The scanning speed is generally set at 400-600 mm per second, the scanning width can be set at 1.5-4 mm according to the workpiece, and the duty cycle and pulse frequency can be set by default.

Let’s take a look at how to set the parameters

Open the process page, which contains the process parameters for debugging. Click the number to modify, click OK after modification , and then save to take effect. We can set several different parameters according to commonly used products. They are saved in process 2 and process 3 respectively , these locations. When using, open the corresponding process and click Import.

Let’s take a look at the settings page.

This page has been set before leaving the factory, and generally does not need to be set again.

At the bottom we can adjust the language, our system supports multiple language display.

The parameter we may need to adjust is the laser center offset. If the red light indicator is not in the center of the welding wire, the offset position needs to be adjusted so that the red light indicator is in the center of the welding wire.

The range is -3 to 3mm , decrease for left movement, increase for right movement.

When we want to perform fish scale welding, we need to change the spot welding type to fish scale. At this time, the spot welding duration and spot welding interval will work, and the default value is generally enough.

The monitoring page generally displays the status of various detection signals and device information.

Let’s take a look at the welding torch.

There is a start button here on the handle of the welding torch, and when we press it, the laser will be fired.

Now let’s fix the ground clip, let it form a loop, and we can start working.

Let’s take a look at the inner fillet welding first, put the workpieces to be welded, let’s take a look at the inner fillet welding, put the workpieces to be welded, aim the red light at the weld, put the welding torch against the workpiece, and press the start button Start welding, and try to keep the welding torch moving smoothly and at a constant speed during the welding process.

When welding with wire feed , the wire pushes the torch backwards.

Let me show you flat fillet welding. Be sure to pay attention when welding. The welding torch should keep a 45 -degree angle with the workpiece. Do not place the welding torch vertically.

The last is fillet welding.

Shutdown sequence after job completion,

Turn off the control switch of the laser chiller in turn , the emergency stop switch, and finally the main switch.

To replace the copper nozzle, you only need to unscrew the original copper nozzle with a wrench, and then install a new copper nozzle, which is very simple.

After installation, you need to adjust the angle of the nozzle , which is very simple, align the welding wire with the center of the gap in the nozzle , and then tighten the screws after alignment.

Replacement of protective lenses.

Unscrew the two screws on the side of the welding torch, take out the protective lens, unscrew the fixing ring, take out the old protective lens and put a new protective lens, then install it back into the welding torch and tighten the screws.
